Abiu/ Pouteria Caimito is native to the region of South America, are also known as Golden Star and its has known in different names in different places,some of the names are : Temare in Venezuela, Caimito in Colombia, Luma or Cauje in Ecuador, Abieiro or Caimito in Brazil, Yellow Sapote or Yellow star in Trinidad. Abiu fruit form varies from spherical to oval, pointed at the distal finish. It has a creamy, jelly-like texture and tastes sweet. It's a flavor best delineated as caramel.
