*** Shakuntala Writing a Letter to Dushyant (1876) : Raja Ravi Varma was very much infuenced by his 'Uttam Nayikas' like Radha, Seeta, Ahilya, Shakuntala in a great way. The love story of Shakuntala-Dushyant was motive and he painted many art pieces based on the incidents and stories of the couple. The work depicts Shakuntala sitting in the 'Upwana' with her friends and writing a letter to her lover Dushyanta.
