Jaun's early education took place in Amroha's madrasas, where learned Urdu, Arabic, and Persian. was never interested in textbooks and often failed his exams. As grew older, developed an interest in Philosophy. earned Master's degrees in Urdu, Persian, and Philosophy. also knew English, Pahlavi, Hebrew, Sanskrit, and French. In his youth, was drawn to communism. After the partition, his elder brother moved to Pakistan. After the death of his parents, Jaun Elia had to go to Pakistan in 1956, though reluctantly, and throughout his life, remembered Amroha and India.
