The phalsa plant, also known as the Grewia Asiatica or Indian gooseberry, is a small tree or shrub native to South and Southeast Asia :
Size : The phalsa plant can grow up to 15 ft (4.5 m) or more.
Bark : The bark is greyish-white or greyish-brown.
Branches : The phalsa plant has long, slender, drooping branches. Young branchlets are densely coated with hairs.
Leaves : The leaves are dark green and glossy on top and pale green on the bottom.
Flowers : The phalsa plant produces small, orange-yellow flowers that bloom in the summer.
Fruit : The fruit is small, round, and edible. When unripe, the fruit is green and purplish-brown when ripe. The fruit is high in vitamin C and has a sour, acidic taste.
Soil : Falsa plants prefer well-drained soil that is rich in materials. The soil pH should be slightly acidic to neutral, around 6.0 to 7.5.
