Syngonium podophyllum, commonly known as arrowhead plant or arrowhead vine, is a species of aroid native to a wide region in Latin America from Mexico through Bolivia. It is also naturalized in various locations including the West Indies, Florida, Texas, Hawaii, and other places. This plant is often cultivated indoors and can reach a height of up to 1.5 meters (4.9 feet). The leaves of Syngonium podophyllum are typically arrow-shaped and can grow up to 30 cm (12 inches) long. In the wild, the leaves are dark green without variegation, but cultivated varieties have leaves in different shades of green with various patterns of lighter colors like cream or white. The plant produces small greenish or whitish flowers on spadices within light-yellow through green spathes; however, indoor plants rarely bloom except for older specimens that are well cared for.
