*Factory at Horto de Ebro* (1909)- Horto was a sleepy mountain town where Picasso began a series of landscape paintings. Picasso has enjoyed manipulating the landscape's geographical elements. In Horta, the chimney that appears in the background is not visible. Rather, it depicts a chimney used to burn olive waste that is located outside of the settlement. Picasso has also incorporated palm trees in this piece, despite the fact that no palm trees grew in or near the village.
