*La Rue-des-Bois* (The Street of the Woods) (1908)- In 1908, he travelled to La Rue-des-Bois, a little French village 65 kilometres north of Paris, with Fernande. The environment is extremely forested, with trees dominating the scene. Picasso quickly embraced this and created a series of forested landscape pieces that perfectly depict the atmosphere of the location. However, the pieces also pay homage to Paul Cezanne, a French painter.
