*Small House in the Garden* (1908)- Picasso depicts a simple setting, a modest house surrounded by two trees and blocked off from a pathway. A third tree appears silhouetted against a bluish-grey sky in the background. The lack of detail and the rigidity of the forms are the features that most closely resemble Cezanne's work. The home has been reduced to three solid planes : end wall, side wall, and roof, though the latter two overlap.
