*The Blue Room* (1901)- The Blue Room is regarded as one of the earliest examples of Picasso's Blue Period work. When he came to Paris from Barcelona and held his first solo exhibition at the Vollard Gallery in 1901, it was a pivotal moment in his life. Picasso's Blue Period is characterised by the artist's obsession with scenes of human sorrow, which he depicted in blue tones. The depiction of the woman's bedroom is especially noteworthy since it gives us a glimpse into Picasso's living quarters at the time. This picture was created in Picasso's own studio apartment at 130 Boulevard de Clichy.
