*** 'The Night Cafe' (1888) : “I have tried to express the terrible passions of humanity by means of red and green. The room is blood red and dark yellow with a green billiard table; lamps with a glow of orange and green. Everywhere there is a clash and contrast of the most alien reds and greens, in the figures of little sleeping hooligans, in the empty dreary room, in violet and blue"; the artist says. Currently it's displayed in Art Gallery in New Haven, Connecticut. *** 'The Yellow Room' (1888) : A famous masterpiece, where depicts Van Gogh's bedroom at Lamartine in Arles, Bouches-du-Rhône, France. The door to the right opened on to the upper floor and the staircase; the door to the left was that of the guest room he held prepared for Gauguin; the window in the front wall looked on to Place Lamartine and its public gardens.
