***** *La Rue-des-Bois* (The Street of the Woods) (1908)- In 1908, he travelled to La Rue-des-Bois, a little French village 65 kilometres north of Paris, with Fernande. The environment is extremely forested, with trees dominating the scene. Picasso quickly embraced this and created a series of forested landscape pieces that perfectly depict the atmosphere of the location. However, the pieces also pay homage to Paul Cezanne, a French painter. The landscapes Picasso created in La Rue-des-Bois, on the other hand, unmistakably bear a debt to Cezanne, as evidenced by Landscape's boldly Cezannesgue forms and colours.***** *Small House in the Garden* (1908)- Picasso depicts a simple setting, a modest house surrounded by two trees and blocked off from a pathway. A third tree appears silhouetted against a bluish-grey sky in the background. The lack of detail and the rigidity of the forms are the features that most closely resemble Cezanne's work. The home has been reduced to three solid planes : end wall, side wall, and roof, though the latter two overlap.
