*Young Ladies on the Banks of the Seine* (1950)- The Young Ladies on the Banks of the Seine, by Gustave Courbet, has been departed from in this artwork. Two languid young Parisiennes are seen in Courbet's picture, reclining in the grass beneath overhanging trees in a peaceful spot on the Seine's banks. Picasso diverged significantly from Courbet's work in terms of scale and layout.
