Aronai is a small Bodo/Boro Traditional Scarf-Muffler, used both by Men and Women. In ancient period Boro warriors used Aronai as a belt in the battle field. At the time of the war, Boro women would weave Aronai within a single night and present it to the warriors as they set out for the battlefield. During felicitation ceremonies, it is simply worn on the neck. During dancing, it is worn on one side of the shoulder and tied with another aronai worn around the waist. This beautiful wool muffler has been handwoven by craftswomen from the Bodo community in Assam
