The lemon plant, Citrus limon, is a small evergreen tree or bush that produces oval-shaped, acidic fruits :
Size : Lemon trees can grow to be 10–20 ft tall.
Leaves : Young leaves are reddish, and mature leaves are dark green above and light green below. Leaves are ovate to lanceolate with toothed margins.
Flowers : Lemon trees produce mildly fragrant, purplish-white flowers in clusters or solitary. The flowers have 4 or 5 petals, white on top and purplish underneath.
Fruit : The fruit is oval with a nipple-like protuberance and is light-yellow. The fruit is aromatic, and dotted with oil glands. The pulp is acidic and the fruit has 8 to 10 segments.
