Eleanor Oliphant is a book that is refreshing and soul stirring. I came across the book on goodreads, and so i bought it owing to popular hype. The quality of the book is excellent and it arrived in a pristine condition. i personally loved the book because i felt like it was telling my life story. The protagonist has her own share of quirks and eccentricities, vices and vulnerabilities. She is armed with a dry sense of humour which the brits are known to possess. She has carefully built a wall around her to hide a horrible childhood trauma, which haunts her every waking moment. She is a deeply damaged and scarred person - both physically and psychologically. under the shell Eleanor is a woman who longs for meaningful human contact and wants to be loved. Eleanor lives a very private and routines life in which nothing out of the blue ever happens to her. She has literally measured out her life in coffee spoon like Eliot's Prufrock, as it were. But then one day something does happen in her carefully planned life, something that she hadn't accounted for. What direction will Eleanor Oliphant's life take who proudly claims to be a 'sole survivor' and 'self sufficient'? That's for you to read and find out. All I can say is that this book is a psychological roller coaster ride both for the protagonist and the reader as she goes from Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine to being Eleanor
