Literature curriculums from high school to college are including more writers from outside the British-American sphere. This volume, a companion to Facts On File's Encyclopedia of British Writers : 19th and 20th Centuries [RBB D 15 03], is edited by a professor of comparative literature at Rutgers University. It includes A-Z entries for approximately 300 African, Asian, Australian, Canadian, Caribbean, European, Latin American, and Middle Eastern authors of poetry, fiction, drama, essay, and autobiography. All of the writers in the book have had works anthologized in textbooks or have been studied in high-school literature courses.
