Sambar Cucumber Plant Seeds

Its striped rind is tough yet yields easily. Its cream-coloured flesh (much like a musk melon's) has the crunchy, watery texture of a cucumber yet holds its form when cooked. The seeds are edible yet mildly bitter, which is why the vegetable is often deseeded before it is used.

How To Grow :  

Fill a wide-mouthed pot with regular garden soil (Red earth, compost and sand/cocopeat in the ratio 2 : 1:1) and sow the seeds about 4-6 cm apart. Cover with a thin layer of soil and water them daily. Once the seedlings sprout up, put them out in the sun, and continue watering until they are about 10 cm in height.

Soil Nutrient Requirements :  

An ideal fertilizer for the Sambar cucumbers will be with higher levels of nitrogen, potassium, and lower levels of phosphorus. A nitrogen-rich fertilizer is essential for Sambar cucumbers plants.
