Holy Basil (Ocimum tenuiflorum or O. sanctum), also known as Tulsi, is a highly aromatic, erect, many-branched shrub, 30-60 cm tall, with hairy, 4-sided stems and purplish-green leaves. It is native to India and is characterized by a strong scent of cloves and mint. It has pink or white flowers and is widely used for its medicinal properties.
