Welcome to our seed's store. To grow a lotus from seed, start by scarifying the seed’s tough outer shell with sandpaper or a knife until you see the white seed inside. Place the seed in warm water (25–30°C / 77–86°F), changing the water daily. After 4–7 days, when the seed starts to sprout, transfer it to a shallow container with heavy loam or clay soil, leaving the leaves above the water. Keep the plant in full sun (6–8 hours) and maintain warm temperatures (75–95°F or 24–35°C). Water should be kept topped up and clean, and fertilize monthly once it has several leaves. If you’re in a colder climate, bring the plant indoors to overwinter in a cool, frost-free space. Common issues like yellowing leaves or no flowers are often caused by too little sun or nutrients. With care, your lotus will bloom in a few months.
