Gum Damar is a resin obtained from the tree family Dipterocarpaceae in India and Southeast Asia. The name "dammar" is a Malaysian word meaning resin or torch made from resin. Burning Gum Dammar is useful in overcoming feelings of sadness, despair, and melancholy with its bright, joyful, cleaning with sweet fragrant notes. It brings clarity and safety and peace.

Fill an incense burner used for burning resins with a bit of salt or sand and place the burner on a heat resistant surface. Place a charcoal tablet inside the burner and light it. Once fully liit, take a small amount of resin and place it in the middle of the coal. As the resin begins to bubble and melt, the smoke and fragrance will be released.
