About The Author: George William Cox (1827–1902) was a renowned British historian who dedicated himself to unraveling the various myths of Greece and the world, ultimately revealing their underlying connections to solar phenomena. His works caught the attention of French poet Stéphane Mallarmé, who translated some of Cox's writings in a collection titled Les Dieux antiques (1880). In 1880, Cox assumed the position of Vicar of Bekesbourne, appointed by A. C. Tait, the Archbishop of Canterbury. Subsequently, from 1881 to 1897, he served as the rector of Scrayingham, Yorkshire. In 1886, Cox was selected as the Bishop of Natal by the followers of Colenso. Throughout his career, Cox authored several notable books.
