Lippan art, also known as mud and mirror work, is a traditional form of decorative art that originated in the state of Gujarat, India. It involves creating intricate patterns and designs using a mixture of clay or mud and mirrors on a base material.
When using MDF as a base for Lippan Art, the surface of the MDF board is with smooth surface. So sanding is not required. Then, a mixture of clay or mud is applied to the surface of the MDF board to form a thin layer. The clay or mud acts as an adhesive and provides a base for embedding the mirrors and creating the decorative patterns.
