Little millet (samai) has several health benefits.
• Samai has the highest amount of fiber among all cereal.
• Its fibre content is nearly twice that of other cereals.
• Flavunoids in little millets play important role in immune boosting of our body. This millet is an excellent source of Iron.
RECIEPES OF MILLET FLAKES :
• It can be eaten by immersing it in plain or warm water/hot milk. Add salt or sugar or honey as per taste. Fried nuts and fruits could also be added.
• Take sufficient quantity of aval, and a glass of boiled milk, sugar or jaggery or honey. Few spoons of grated coconut will add good flavour /aroma.
• Take sufficient quantity of Aval spray of hot water and salt, Add few pieces of fresh vegetables for a nutritious meal for children and adult.
• Upma/Kichadi/Payasam can also be made.
