This is a hand crank generator that generate electrical energy while rotating its shaft by hand in clock or anti-clock vise direction. How To Use : After assembly (as shown in fig.) just rotate the crank shaft in clock wise direction, the connecting LED’s glows. This shows an adequate voltage is being generated by stepper motor (here used as DC generator). One can modify the design by using bigger wheel for rotation instead of the existing shaft for better results. There are many type of electric motors that can be used as Electric Generator but the small Geared stepper motors gives adequate current and voltage in comparison of DC motor. They are quite small and aren't suitable for producing more than a few Watts, but there are good reasons for looking at them. Unlike small DC motors, steppers will generate power at very low rotation rates; typically only about 200 rpm for a good output which is ten or fifteen times slower than the rate for a DC motor. Small scale generators to run things like computer games or flashlights can be made without mechanical complications like gearing. Because of their small size they're obviously not suitable for charging large batteries.
