Millets are known to be most ancient crop cultivated and consumed as food by human being . Paddy and wheat became a food many thousand years after millet. Generally millets are small grained , annual , warm weathered cereals belonging to the grass family . There are 15 -16 types of grain in that family. Dr. Khadar Vali , renowned south indian scientist, Padma Shri award winner of 2023, also known as Millet Man of India , researched on millets and among these 15 -16 types of millets , he has founded out 5 millets as positive grain. This five millets are Browntop Millet , Barnyard Millet , Little Millet , Kodo Millet , Foxtail Millet. All together they are called 'SIRIDHANYA MILLET'.
