The Sunflower Aluminium is a pressure cooker that creates pressurised steam to cook foods. A traditional pressure cooker consists of a steel pot with an aluminium base, a locking lid containing an airtight seal, and a removable safety valve. The aluminium base on the pot assists to minimise scorching of foods as the temperature increases. Most pressure cookers have a round cooking rack that keeps the food from being directly placed on the bottom of the pot. The safety valve is used to control the pressure inside the pot from low to high pressure measured in increments of 5 to 15 pounds. The air within the pot is heated to a very high temperature, allowing air pressure and steam to build inside and cook foods faster at higher temperatures. Since this process allows a higher temperature to be maintained, it results in faster cooking times that are typically only one-third of what conventional methods require.
