Here is a detailed description of how we make our turmeric powder using traditional practices : 1. Organic farming: We follow organic farming principles, which means we do not use chemical pesticides, herbicides or synthetic fertilizers on our turmeric crops. 2. Washing: Instead of boiling the turmeric rhizomes to remove impurities, we thoroughly wash them with fresh water multiple times. This washing process ensures that the rhizomes are clean & free from impurities. Boiling is avoided as it can degrade the natural properties & curcumin content of the turmeric. 3. Cutting into thin slices: After washing, the turmeric rhizomes are cut into thin slices. This step increases the surface area of the turmeric, facilitating efficient drying. 4. Shade drying: The sliced turmeric is then dried in a shaded area. Shade drying is preferred over exposing the turmeric to excessive heat & sunlight, as these can degrade its natural properties & curcumin content. By drying the turmeric gradually in a shaded environment, Tarai Organics ensures that the flavour & beneficial compounds are retained. 5.
