*** Draupadi and Sudeshna (1896) : This artpiece depicts the characters from Mahabharat.Draupadi was the queen of Pandavas. Queen Sudeshna, the wife of King Virata of Matsya, tries to convince her lady in waiting Sairendri (who is Draupadi in disguise) to accept her brother Keechaka’s proposal as he madly desires her. She asks sairandhri to go in keechaka's chamber along with a flask of wine. The helpless queen, who doesn’t know how to deny her brother’s order to send Sairendri to him, tries to make her lady-in-waiting feel privileged at being the chosen one. *** Raja Ravi Varma (1848-1906) is thought-about among the best painters within the history of Indian art for variety of aesthetic and broader social reasons. His artworks are said to be among the most effective samples of the fusion of European techniques with a strictly Indian sensibility. Importantly, lithographs of his paintings accessible to the general public, that greatly increased his reach and influence as a painter and figure. His depictions of Hindu deities and episodes from the epics and Puranas have received profound acceptance from the general public and usually are used as objects of worship across India.
